Britannia – bare and beautiful!
Since the boat’s arrived, we have removed approximately 22 tons of weight out of the boat. All the engineering has come out, the tanks, the interiors, and all the skylights have been removed. We are still going backwards before we can go forward. The bulwarks have now been stripped and she’s looking beautiful! (photos coming soon!) Britannia’s chief architect and designer, Stefano Faggioni has come up to Cowes from Italy for a few days to visit Britannia and we’re preparing to laser scan the interior and exterior of the hull so that the 3D model of the interior can be completed and sent to the company building the interiors to commence work. We’ll shortly be posting photos of the stripping process on our site and on Facebook. Stay tuned! (Photo courtesy of Andy Iannetta)
